This is the third in a series of courses on Occupational Health. As the cost of work-related injuries increases, employers are increasingly focusing on ergonomics and worksite injury prevention. As physical therapists, we have the background and training to understand the human musculoskeletal system and how it interfaces with work. Our training in biomechanics and pathokinesiology allows us to provide valuable assistance to employers as they strive to prevent injuries. This webinar advances our basic training in biomechanics and provides additional knowledge and skills for job analysis and ergonomics. This knowledge can be applied to help employers identify the physical requirements of the job and to reduce the physical stresses related to work. The webinar will also introduce the concept of worksite early intervention programs and demonstrate how these programs can reduce work-related musculoskeletal injuries. The purpose of this course is to provide training in job analysis, ergonomics and worksite injury prevention programs.
